Think Outside the Box
Monday, April 16th at 5:30 p.m.
Orange and Brew, Reitz Union
Confirm your attendance on Facebook
In this workshop, current and rising student leaders from a wide range of majors, including the Fine Arts, will gain valuable experience in networking, teamwork, and lateral thinking. In this workshop, participants will be placed in multidisciplinary teams and will attempt to come up with the most creative and realistic solutions to real problems on campus. The top solutions will not be picked simply on how practical they are, but also on how many academic disciplines contribute to the idea. The winning solution may be implemented on campus!
The world is changing fast. A new kind of leader is needed, one who can think broadly across disciplines and consider the human dimensions that are at the heart of every design challenge. With that said, we hope to see you in attendance with an open mind and ready to Think Outside the Box!

From the Gainesville Sun, Correspondent Hannah Winston:
Arts and cultural events in Gainesville and surrounding areas are launching a coordinated marketing initiative next week with the hope to make the city a cultural destination.
“We knew we had a vast possibility of a real cultural destination,” said Annie Pais, the director of Florida’s Eden, a nonprofit citizen initiative leading the effort.
Pais said she knows Gainesville is artistic, has great food and culture and that nature is central to the area. She said she hopes the new marketing effort will help spread the word regionally and even internationally.

From the Gainesville Sun, author Nathan Crabbe:
The University of Florida wants its undergraduates to get an idea of the good life before they get wrapped up in their majors.
