The University of Florida’s School of Theatre and Dance proudly presents its 2012 mainstage dance concert, CROSSING THE LINE, Dance 2012 directed by Neta Pulvermacher, featuring the award winning dancers of the UF School of Theatre and Dance in a program of faculty works and special commissions by international guest artists, Ann Liv Young and Yaniv Abraham. The program includes University of Florida faculty Kristin O’Neal in Lensing (world premiere) utilizing projections and live feed. Neta Pulvermacher is contributing two works: Vivladiana, a magnificent sweeping dance for 6 women set to Vivaldi’s concerto for two cello and 6 Stories a work in 6 sections with an original interactive set design by Caitlin Callahan.  6 Stories is set to an original score by the renown, hip hop violinist, Miri Ben Ari. UF’s all time favorite, Mohammed Dacosta, will revive his magnificent, all girl drumming-dance, Drums.  Colette Krogol and Matt Reeves (Orange Grove Dance), premiere a delightful work with 100 red balloons entitled Sans Titre.  Special guest artist commissions include American Crane Standards by the renowned artist Ann Liv Young features 12 dancers and 8 white toilets.  The program is completed by the Swamp Dance Fest! 2011 Commission, Wired by Yaniv Abraham of Israel’s Bat Sheva Dance Company. 

Biographies of Guest Artists:
Ann Liv Young was born on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and has been creating performance work for over eight years. She is one of the youngest artists whose work has been presented at major venues in New York City and Europe such as P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Dance Theater Workshop, Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, Brooklyn Museum, Flea Theater, Judson Church, The Children’s Foundation of Harlem, The Kitchen, Laban Centre London, Impulstanz, Springdance, The Arches, Tanz Im August, Motel Mosaique, Donau Festival, City of Women, Kampnagel, Brute- Wien, Inkonst, Gender Bender, Theatre de la Bastille, among others. Her work has also been presented in Virginia, North Carolina, London, Vienna, Holland, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, Washington D.C., New Mexico, Connecticut, Montana and Philadelphia. 

Israeli artist Yaniv Abraham graduated from the Matte Asher School of Performing Arts. Soon after, Yaniv joined the Batsheva Ensemble in August 2001. Abraham has been awarded the America Israel Cultural Foundation grant in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Two years after dancing in the Batsheva Ensemble, Abraham joined the main company under the direction of world renowned choreographer Ohad Naharin and was a member of Batsheva until July 2010. In 2002, Abraham became a Gaga-certified teacher both for dancers and for non-dancers. Since July 2010, he has been teaching master classes, workshops and setting repertoire of Ohad Naharin all over the world. Yaniv is now teaching Gaga on a regular basis in Tel Aviv at the Suzanne Dellal Center.  Yaniv was a guest artist in residence for the 2011 Swamp Dance Fest! at UF.
